Grand Circuit Report: Week of November 30, 2008

This Week: The 2008 season has drawn to a close. The 2009 Grand Circuit schedule will be announced in January.

Last time: 2008 Grand Circuit driving champion David Miller closed out the season in style as he piloted a pair of winners in the Breeders Crown finals for 2– and 3-year-olds on November 29 at The Meadowlands.

Miller was triumphant behind Fox Valley Topaz in the $700,000 2-year-old filly pace and A And G’sconfusion in the $610,000 3-year-old filly pace.

The other six Breeders Crown winners were Muscle Hill (Brian Sears - $700,000 2-year-old colt trot); Well Said (Ron Pierce - $700,000 2-year-old colt pace); Honorable Daughter (John Campbell - $700,000 2-year-old filly trot); Somebeachsomewhere (Paul MacDonell - $500,000 3-year-old colt pace), In Focus (Dave Palone - $500,000 3-year-old colt trot) and Kadealia (Tim Tetrick - $500,000 3-year-old filly trot).

Grand Circuit Driving Standings: David Miller finished in first place in the 2008 Grand Circuit driving standings with 38 wins. Ron Pierce and Brian Sears were tied for second with 28 victories. Tim Tetrick checked in fourth with 27 triumphs. John Campbell held down fifth place with 24 wins. Dave Palone checked in sixth with 18 victories. Yannick Gingras and Ray Schnittker shared seventh place with 11 wins. Andy Miller finished in the ninth spot with 10 victories. Jody Jamieson and Mike Lachance rounded out the top 10 with nine winners apiece.
